TheSidelineStat is a sports-data webpage made by 2 NFL & NBA fans to provide meaningful statistical information to a broader range of fans. Initially starting out as a sports page based on opinion, we quickly shifted our focus to statistics and their underlying implications. We both knew a large amount of statistical information before creating TheSidelineStat. Still, at the same time, we knew that many other people were not interested in this, so we created this page to shift opinions about statistics in sports.

At TheSidelineStat, we post many articles relating to both the NFL & NBA, with each owner focusing solely on one. We try to publish at least two weekly articles on topics that we consider significant for that time. We try to avoid topics that are easily talked about, such as power rankings or upsets, but we use this information to show the bigger picture, involving statistics, of course.

We take drastic measures to ensure the credibility of what we say: we would use very trusted sources to gather our data and to draw conclusions, and if there isn’t a trusted source, we would usually write programs to gather the data ourselves, and sometimes we share our processes so that the audience can also gain a sense on how to do this.

We also take many suggestions from the audience reading our articles, so if you have comments or suggestions regarding our articles, please email us at 2470729@lfschools.net, or @HoodyHoyer on Instagram to send DMs there.
